Minecraft Dungeons is an all-new action-adventure game, inspired by classic dungeon crawlers and set in the Minecraft universe! It is a swift hack-and-slash game played from an overhead perspective. As an anonymous blocky adventurer, you’ll fight or flee through canyons, swamps and mines! You fight monsters, gather loot, trade in that loot for better loot, and fight more monsters. You can brave the dungeons alone, or team up with friends. Up to four players can battle together through action-packed, treasure-stuffed, wildly varied levels, all in an epic quest to save the villagers and take down the evil Arch-Illager!
As a dungeon crawler, Minecraft Dungeons is eminently competent. It’s got the bright colors and vague spookiness of the standard pastoral Minecraft setting with zombies, giant spiders, and occasional yawning pits into a mysterious hell world breaking up the farmlands and forests. The combat is spry and straightforward, a mess of quick sword slashes, spells, and arrows. Great game for children, even better with friends when holding a Minecraft Dungeons Party in our game truck!
